Rockhampton Museum of Art – Lease of Restaurant tender

An exciting and unique opportunity is available for an experienced hospitality business to be part of the revitalisation of Rockhampton’s Riverbank Precinct and establish itself as a vibrant destination venue for the region.
Tenders are being sought for the exclusive lease of part of the ground level restaurant and bar area within the new Rockhampton Museum of Art. The available space consists of a commercial kitchen and service area and indoor (air conditioned) dining space opening up internally to the Long Gallery in the Rockhampton Museum of Art and externally to the colonnade and the iconic Customs House.
Rockhampton Museum of Art is a three-storey structure with a gross floor area of 4,700m2 that overlooks the Fitzroy River (Tunuba), next to the iconic Customs House, and is connected to the commercial centre of the city via new walkways to East Street.
More than a traditional art gallery, Rockhampton Museum of Art is where art is shared, bringing major touring exhibitions to the region, and showcasing the region’s own creativity to the world. While Rockhampton Museum of Art is a new institution, it continues the more than 50-year history of the former Rockhampton Art Gallery. It is also part of a long tradition of art appreciation, philanthropy and creation in Rockhampton.
The successful tenderer will offer a high quality food and beverage outlet that will provide an engaging, progressive, active and genuine appeal to the community and be complimentary to Rockhampton Museum of Art and its exhibition programming,
The Rockhampton Museum of Art is due to open by early 2022. The Restaurant is able to open earlier.
