Celebrations edge closer as nomination deadline nears
Posted on October 26th, 2021
With just over a week before nominations close, Capricorn Enterprise together with the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce are calling on local businesses of all size, industry and sector from across the region to get behind these prestigious accolades and finalise their submissions.
While it has been a challenging 20 months for business, there remains plenty of cause for celebration, and the 2021 Best in Business Awards provide a platform to recognise those that are, and have been doing, incredible things.
The inaugural Awards program features seven (7) award categories with People’s Choice votes starting to pour in and Gala event tickets flying hot.
Capricorn Enterprise CEO, Mary Carroll is looking forward to highlighting our exceptional broad industry business drivers who are using innovation and expertise to move the region forward.
“While we have already seen many very high caliber entries submitted, we encourage more businesses to get their submissions in before Friday 29th October,” Mary said.
“The businesses and individuals who represent our 2021 submissions so far reflect a diversity of talent and significant effort has been placed on their nominations.”
Awards will be judged following the closing date by an independent panel, carefully selected, and vetted to ensure no conflict or interests. The judging panel is listed below…
- Tim Sayre, Regional Stakeholder Manager – Wide Bay Burnett at CCIQ
- Tony Gambling, Director of Regional Development – Regional Development Australia
- Kim Harrington, Associate Vice President Rockhampton and Central Highlands – CQUniversity
- Arjan Bloemer, Chief Executive Officer – Central Highlands Development Corporation
- Adrienne Rourke, Central Queensland Regional Manager – AusIndustry Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources
The Best in Business Gala evening will be held on Saturday 27th November at Kortes Resort in Rockhampton, and the glamorous black-tie event will bring together all those who make our destination unique.
Chair of Capricornia Chamber of Commerce, Phil Henry hopes to be flooded with last minute nominations, providing a good competitive base.
“Business is an area that often gets overlooked and this is an opportunity to highlight the role and contribution of those who keep the cogs turning in our region,” Phil said.
“We want as many finalists as possible vying for best in business.”
The Awards night celebration will also feature individual employee awards and will acknowledge our leading tourism organisations and those organisations with significant business longevity.
