What an achievement!
In the 9 months since the Plastic Free CQ program started, 53 food retail businesses have eliminated 100,000 pieces of single-use plastic. This is an absolute milestone for the program and credit to its members’ engagement.
These local businesses have worked through their single-use plastic items and eliminated them altogether or swapped them over to reusable or compostable items. By working with the program, they have been able to identify solutions that suit their needs, and are empowered to make sustainable decisions around future packaging options.
