CQ Crane Hire Gold Rush Hill Sprint – Saturday 9th July

These 3000 metres, 26 cornered course is more than just a hill climb!

Over two days, the CQ Crane Hire Gold Rush Hill Sprint will welcome over 150 invited experienced competitors from across the country driving some unique and very fast cars.

The course is a one of a kind in Australia, starting at the bottom of the Mt Morgan Range (Burnett Highway) and featuring over three kilometres of 10-metre-wide tarmac with 26 corners and a 160-metre change of elevation.

2022 Rockhampton Cup – Saturday 9th July

The Rockhampton Cup is a 1600m race held annually at Rockhampton Racecourse in Queensland, boasting a total prize pool of $150,000.

This year’s race will be run on July 9 with a variety of ticketing options available including the Chairman’s Lunch, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation Lunch and Prosecco Paddock, along with general admission tickets.

Rockhampton EXPO – 15th – 17th July

The 2022 Rockhampton Expo is the region’s largest and most successful home, lifestyle and outdoor adventure event.

Over 130 local and regional companies will be displaying everything from the latest caravans, camper trailers, hybrids, 4x4s and accessories, camping gear, fishing equipment, boats and holiday destinations, through to sustainable living, outdoor furniture, homewares, barbeques and more.

Swim Around Keppel – 23rd and 24th July

Come and swim in paradise at Australia’s longest and ONLY tropical island swimming marathon. Swim Around Keppel (SAK) features a circumnavigation island swim in tropical waters and covers a total distance of 20 kilometres.

This unique open water event takes place on Great Keppel Island and is spread across 2 days of festivities including waterpolo, guided bush walks, family scavenger hunt, kayaking, snorkelling and an afternoon concert featuring local artists. There will also be shorter novice swims, plus a 5-kilometre swim around Middle Island.

Yeppoon Running Festival – 30th and 31st July

Starting on the beautiful Yeppoon foreshore overlooking the Keppel Bay vistas, the Yeppoon Running Festival is Central Queensland’s only Marathon, incorporating a half marathon, 10km, 5km and 1.6km family fun run.

The Yeppoon Running Festival is one of the fastest regional races in Queensland and the only Marathon in Central Queensland. The new courses are fast and flat, starting and finishing the heart of Yeppoon allowing runners and supporters to soak in the atmosphere and crowds along the main strip.

CQ University Village Festival – 5th – 14th August

With a program to suit EVERYONE, the CQ University Village Festival is set to bring Yeppoon to life once again.

Central Queensland’s drawcard celebration of live music, arts, and culture, the CQUniversity Village Festival, returns this winter with a massive line up of stage shows and entertainment. The festival boasts a significant live music program, a vast array of performing and visual arts productions, street theatre, workshops, food & market stalls, and children’s activities.

Yeppoon Triathlon Festival – 20th – 21st August

More than just a competition, the Yeppoon Triathlon Festival has built its foundation on becoming a community and family-fun event since it launched on the Capricorn Coast seven years ago.

Returning this year by popular demand, the festival promises to offer a weekend filled with fantastic opportunities for athletes of all fitness levels, as well as those who want to take part just for fun.

The Yeppoon Triathlon Festival welcomes all competitors and their families.

CapriCon – 27th August

Capricorn Food and Wine Festival – 22nd – 25th September

Celebrating 10 years in 2022, the Capricorn Food and Wine Festival returns to showcase all things food, wine, beer, spirits, live music and more!

The tenth instalment of the annual Capricorn Food and Wine Festival will once again be set against the backdrop of the mighty Fitzroy River, Rockhampton. Be entertained and inspired by top chefs’ demonstrations and live music from local musicians keeping revellers entertained throughout the afternoon.
