The Great Keppel Island Trail Run / Hike
Posted on June 1st, 2022
Register now – Event on Sunday 12th June 2022
Central Queensland’s most spectacular running/hiking event is happening on June 12 at Great Keppel Island. Registrations are still open, but time is running out.
This event caters to both trail runners and hikers alike and includes a variety of distances ranging from 9.5km up the “Full Keppel” which is a 27km course that traverses the entire island.
Whilst some participants will be racing against the clock, many will enjoy the leisurely option of a gentle run or hike, giving themselves the opportunity to enjoy amazing beaches, spectacular views and great company.
Participants are encouraged to stay on the island over the weekend, but for those planning a day trip, Keppel Konnections is providing an early ferry transfer to get participants to the start line on time.
The event begins from the GKI Hideaway at 8am and everyone is due back by 2pm for presentations, socialising and an afternoon of tropical island relaxation. And those not keen on six hours or 27km of exercise, are welcome to head back early, put their feet up and cheer the incoming participants.
For more information about this event, head to “The GKI Trail Run” Facebook page or look at the events page on the fitzroyfrogs.net website.
