Refreshed Work in Paradise Queensland and Tourism and Hospitality Jobs site

The Work in Paradise Queensland Tourism and Hospitality Jobs website has been refreshed to ensure it continues to be a key tool for workers and employers to better connect and help our tourism industry to grow and prosper.

As well as promoting job opportunities in tourism and hospitality across the state, the website includes specialised content and a resource centre with information for employers as well as job seekers who may have a disability, mature age workers, migrant and visa holders and First Nations people.

Look at the new Skills in Need section for a deeper dive on what it takes to fill some of the highest demand jobs such as chefs and cooks, food and beverage and customer and guest services.  You can learn what a working day can look like, the skills needed and how to get them, and view videos of people already doing these jobs including many of our Young Tourism Leaders such as Kieran Anderson from Yalabin Dining on Minjerribah.

Since the Work in Paradise Tourism and Hospitality Jobs website was launched last year, it has attracted more than 3480 registered users (a mix of jobseekers and employers) and there have been over 8,000 jobs advertised on the site.  At any one time, there are usually around 1250 jobs featured on the site. There are now more than 17 employer profiles on the site, with regular news bulletins and messages emailed directly to registered site users.

The Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport is working with TEQ as part of its Working Holidayer campaign which links to the jobs website and has boosted traffic to the site over the past few months.  YHA, was one of the original accommodation partners, and continues to be an accommodation partner promoting the site to their members.

This is an easy site to use and there are many benefits:

  • Tourism employers can post a job for free
  • Tourism employers can get noticed by creating an employer profile
  • Channel job seekers to your region by using the regions job search link from your regional profile
  • Use the AirCV function to find new employees
  • Work with us to send a direct message to our 3480 registered users.

Please help spread the word and get people working in our amazing Queensland tourism sector.
