Belly laughs ahoy…

Central Queensland is about to get a whole lot funnier – with a swag of Australian comedians coming to town this November for the very first Capricorn Coast Comedy Festival!
From Emu Park to Yeppoon, in bars, breweries and the dedicated Kingsway Comedy Lounge @ Salt, the inaugural Cap Coast Comedy Fest is bringing the best in stand-up comedy to the region, November 18-19, 2022.
The Capricorn Coast Comedy Festival is the brand-new sister event of the hugely successful Sunshine Coast Comedy Festival, delivered by Queensland events company Near North Festivals in partnership with local business, venues and comedians. Tickets are on sale now at capcoastcomedyfest.com
Comedian and Festival Producer Mick Neven has delivered a cracking line-up of stand-up shows for the festival, showcasing his favourite performers, hand-picked from this year’s Australian and international festival circuits.
Mick Neven relates, ‘It’s a genuine pleasure to bring these performers to Central Queensland audiences. 2022 really saw the full re-emergence of live shows and we’ve been watching each of these comics just kill it with their new material all year.’
Freshly back from the UK producing a series of sold-out comedy shows for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Mick is very aware of the demand for Australian humour worldwide and will be showcasing CQ’s own up-and-coming comedic talent in partnership with the CQ Comedy Club, an online home for local comedy to grow and develop in Central Queensland.
‘The Cap Coast Comedy Fest is a brand-new opportunity for us to connect and celebrate with the community’ says Mick. ‘Building alongside events like the CQU Village Festival, Capricorn Coast Film Festival and Capricorn Writers Festival, CCCF is an opportunity for us to bring world class talent to the region, build the community’s own creative capacity, and celebrate our stories together on stage… Oh, and to wet your pants laughing with a bunch of mates.’
Tickets to the funniest weekend this year are on sale now, so grab a group of friends, make a night of it, and enjoy a laugh out on the town together this November! Cap Coast Comedy Festival – Yeppoon and Emu Park, Central Queensland www.capcoastcomedyfest.com
