Fitzroy to Gladstone (F2G) Pipeline update

On Tuesday the 28th of March over 100 community and industry stakeholders gathered to attend the Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline project industry briefing jointly hosted by Capricorn Enterprise and Advance Rockhampton. Representatives from McConnel Dowell – BMD Joint Venture (MBJV) presented at the briefing, covering the project scope, timeline, supplier requirements and the joint venture’s commitment to local content.

Covering the LGA’s of Livingstone, Rockhampton, Gladstone and Banana, the project is seeking to achieve employment of a diverse workforce, including $10 million in spend to suppliers and businesses owned by First Nations Australians, 10,000 hours for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce participation, as well as trainees and apprentices to make up 15% of the workforce hours.

The project comprises an approximately 117 kilometre pipeline, a water treatment plant, reservoirs and pumping stations connecting the Lower Fitzroy river to Gladstone Area Water Board’s existing water network at Yarwun. It will provide water security for the area and support for the emerging hydrogen industry in the Gladstone region. The project will now proceed through the design phase, with construction planned to be commencing later in 2023.

The project’s industry and community engagement program is being managed by CQG Consulting, who will establish communication channels for business and the community seeking to learn more about the project and/or participate in the upcoming procurement packages.
