Visitor Information Centre volunteers experience Koorana Crocodile Farm

11 Volunteers and staff from the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre attended a familiarisation at Koorana Crocodile Farm on the 18th April.

Volunteers were greeted by Adam Lever, and given an introduction on the history of crocodiles and Koorana Crocodile Farm before witnessing a special appearance from some very cute hatchlings before setting off to see the big crocs.

Adam had the volunteers on the edge of their seats for the entire tour, with crocs feeding, snapping, and jumping, and the tour ended with the volunteers having the opportunity to hold and cuddle a croc!

The team thoroughly enjoyed every minute and appreciated the chance to learn more about the prehistoric beasts, get up close to the action and watch them (safely) in their natural environment.

Volunteers also said hello to Fitzroy and Fiona – Capricorn Enterprise’s sponsored crocs, before wrapping up the complete crocodile experience with a snappy lunch from the on-site restaurant.

Visitors to the Farm can currently witness hatchings, and are welcome to stay for the day, joining in on the afternoon tour if they wish to meet more of the toothy characters for no extra cost.
