Capricorn Coast on Eco-Destination journey!
Posted on May 24th, 2023
Earlier this month, Capricorn Enterprise and Livingstone Shire Council proudly hosted colleagues from Eco Tourism Australia to our stunning destination to meet with key stakeholders and community groups with a keen interest in Eco tourism and Eco destination accreditation. A full day of meetings with key Council departments and team members, including visits to key environmental sites, was followed by a tourism forum with our Eco certified operators sharing their journey with fellow tourism businesses and experiences keen to improve and fast track their sustainability journey. A whirlwind tour to some of our destination’s eco accredited operators and soon to be eco accredited tourism experiences impressed Eco Tourism Australia representatives Alyssah Sanders and Shannon Scullion. LSC Eco Tourism Project Officer Amy Druery is tasked with the role of achieving Eco destination status for the Capricorn Coast by 2024 with assistance from her Council colleagues, Capricorn Enterprise, community groups and our tourism operators.
