A message from Energy Queensland about their 2025-30 Draft plans

Dear Customer/Stakeholder,

We are committed to delivering the energy transformation without spending one dollar more than necessary, while being a significant contributor to the Queensland economy and meeting your lifestyle aspirations.

We have just posted on Talking Energy, our future investment plans, the Draft Plans for Ergon Energy Network and Energex, for the 2025-30 regulatory determination period. As we present these plans, it’s important to acknowledge how much our past discussions and feedback from valued stakeholders and customers like you have influenced our plans. Your insights have been instrumental in guiding our direction, and we invite you to continue this conversation.

This milestone goes beyond just outlining our future plans; it embodies our vision for a cleaner energy future in Queensland. For the first time, we’re providing an in-depth look at our forecast expenditures and revenues to deliver our investment priorities prudently and efficiently.

Our top priority is our customers. We understand that affordability, coupled with the rising cost of living and cost of business, is the number one concern of Queenslanders. Our commitment is to putting downward pressure on prices – we will not spend a dollar more than necessary to deliver our future program of work.

With this in mind, we’ve aimed to strike the right balance between investing in the network to provide clean, reliable, safe and smart electricity and efficiently delivering electricity services in the most affordable way.

So, have we got the balance, right?

This is where you come in. Your perspectives will be instrumental in refining our Ergon Energy Network and Energex Regulatory Proposals we will share with the AER in January 2024.

Consultation on both the Ergon Energy Network and Energex 2025-30 Draft Plans is open until 5pm, Friday 13 October 2023.

By visiting Our Draft Plans on Talking Energy you can view our Draft Plans and provide your feedback.

Kind regards

Michael Dart
