Crocs, docks and GKI treasures unlocked – Channel 9’s TODAY Show visits the Capricorn Coast region
Posted on March 27th, 2024
Smiling at crocodiles at Koorana Crocodile Farm, daydreaming at the Southern Great Barrier Reef’s gateway Keppel Bay Marina, experiencing the speed of Funtastic Cruises Kraken Adventure, and indulging in relaxing vibes at Great Keppel Island Hideaway, Channel 9’s TODAY Show returned to our diverse and welcoming destination.
With weather presenter, Tim Davis, back on the land he loves with his talented crew, the Capricorn Coast and Southern Great Barrier Reef was proudly showcased to the national audience across the three days.
Basing themselves at Oshen Yeppoon for two nights, the crew shot the first weather cross on Tuesday from Koorana Crocodile Farm and the second on Wednesday from Keppel Bay Marina after spending the day with Funtastic Cruises, experiencing snorkeling, diving and the speed of their new fast boat – The Kraken.
The crew anchored at Great Keppel Island ready for their final cross on Thursday morning, staying at Great Keppel Island Hideaway.
A number of proud community members and other local businesses joined the live crosses, including St Ursula’s College students and Reef Distillers. Thank you to everyone who attended the early mornings to paint our destination in the best light.
It takes a lot of behind the scenes work and ongoing positive relationships between Capricorn Enterprise and production crews to make these national television crosses happen smoothly. The publicity value is approximately $630,000 per day.
