Celebrating Our Local Legends: Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre & Volunteers Week

As we marked another Volunteers Week (19th to 23rd May 2025), there’s no better time to shine a light on the heart and soul of our community—the incredible volunteers at the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre.

The Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre serves as a gateway to our stunning region. Whether it’s a first-time traveller eager to explore the Capricorn Coast region or a long-time local looking for a new adventure, the Centre is a hub of knowledge, warmth, and hospitality.

But what truly makes the Centre special is the dedicated team of volunteers who greet each visitor with a smile and a story. These passionate locals offer not just directions and brochures, but a genuine love for the place we call home. From sharing hidden gems to recommending local eats and tours, their enthusiasm is contagious and their impact immeasurable.

This Volunteers Week, we paused and had a lovely afternoon tea at the Yeppoon Golf Club to say a heartfelt thank you. Thank you for your time, your energy, and your unwavering commitment to showcasing the best of the Capricorn Coast region. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed—each kind word, every thoughtful suggestion, and all those days spent helping others explore our region are deeply appreciated.

Honouring Years of Service
We’re proud to take this opportunity to recognise and celebrate the dedication of three of our long-serving team members:

  • Carol Moore – 5 years of service
  • Sharon Scott – 10 years of service
  • Sheila Kop – 10 years of service

Happy Volunteers Week – and thank you for being the face of our community.
