Tourism Australia Manager wowed by Capricorn Coast Region!
Posted on June 2nd, 2025
Tourism Australia’s Industry Relations Manager, Rachael Glendinning thoroughly enjoyed her 4 day visit to our region last week, having never been to Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast prior.
Sincere thanks to our accommodation operators and experiences who assisted Capricorn Enterprise in showcasing as much as possible, from city to coast, rainforest to reef, cowboys to country!
Rachael commented on the incredible diversity within our region, enjoying different experiences overnight, kindly hosted by Salt Yeppoon, Great Keppel Island Hideaway, High Valley Dawn Tiny Home and Empire Apartment Hotel. Hosted experiences included Ferns Hideaway, Castle Rock Farm, Yeppoon Lagoon, Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary, Keppel Konnections, Freedom Fast Cats, High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm, Salty Lime Co, Koorana Crocodile Farm, Emu Park Singing Ship and ANZAC walk, Capricorn Caves, Mount Archer Nurim Skywalk and Rockhampton Museum of Art. Rachael was also incredibly impressed with our fantastic dining experiences including Vue Wine Bar & Restaurant, Lure Living, Waterline Restaurant, Beaches Restaurant, Byfield General Store and Rocky’s oldest pub, the Criterion Hotel. Of course a hosted tour to our destination always includes a Rocky city tour, Yeppoon town tour, coastal scenic drive and loads of commentary and fun facts, so Rachael departed our region wanting to return with her partner for a future holiday from Sydney!
