An outdoor lifestyle brand founded in Yeppoon is shining a light on the Capricorn Coast’s growing reputation for innovation and sustainability.
Sunseeker SPF, created by local resident Grace Rayner, is part of a new generation of businesses making environmentally responsible choices the norm rather than the exception.
Designed and made on the Capricorn Coast, Sunseeker SPF embodies the community’s shared value of caring for country — producing natural, reef-safe, eco-conscious sun protection that aligns with the region’s ECO Destination Certification through Ecotourism Australia.
“Sunseeker was inspired by the Capricorn Coast,” said Grace.
“Living here, you can’t help but notice how stunning our surroundings are. It’s a constant reminder of why preserving them matters.”
“Creating a product that protects people while also protecting the environment just felt like the right thing to do.”
The Capricorn Coast achieved ECO Destination Certification in 2024, joining a small number of Australian regions recognised for their sustainable tourism practices.
This recognition reflects the work of local operators and producers who continue to lead with environmental integrity — from eco-accommodation and nature-based tours to products like Sunseeker SPF that support responsible travel and living.
“The Capricorn Coast is home to people and businesses who genuinely care about preserving what makes this region so special,” said Mary Carroll, Chief Executive Officer of Capricorn Enterprise.
“Grace’s work with Sunseeker SPF captures that collective commitment to doing things differently — to creating, growing, and sharing in ways that are good for both people and the planet.”
As more travellers seek destinations with genuine environmental credentials, stories like Sunseeker’s continue to illustrate how the Capricorn Coast is not only protecting its natural assets but helping others do the same.
