Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre volunteers discover some of the best stays on the Capricorn Coast

Volunteers from the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre recently spent a day visiting a range of caravan parks and stays across the region, gaining a fresh perspective on the variety of accommodation available for visitors.

The group began at Poinciana Tourist Park, where they viewed the park’s newer cabins and glamping tents, before continuing on to NRMA Capricorn Yeppoon Holiday Park. Here, they were shown through the grounds, including the pools, jumping pillow, outdoor cinema and range of family-friendly facilities.

At Ingenia Holidays Kinka Beach Yeppoon, volunteers were welcomed by the team and had the opportunity to explore the recently installed cabins, along with the park’s shared spaces and amenities.

The visits continued in Emu Park at Tasman Holiday Parks – Fisherman’s Beach, where new managers Bernard and Kylie showcased the park’s mix of slab and grass sites, as well as its direct beach access and proximity to local facilities.

A stop at THYME Travellers Farm Stay in Coorooman offered a different style of experience, with volunteers meeting resident animals and learning more about the farm stay offering.

At Keppel Sands Caravan Park, the group viewed the waterfront sites, upgraded amenities and recreational facilities, before heading back towards Yeppoon.

The final visits included Blue Dolphin Caravan Park, located within walking distance to Yeppoon’s main beach and town centre, and Beachside Holiday Park on Farnborough Beach, where volunteers were able to take in the coastal setting and recent park improvements.

Thank you to Murray and Deb for supplying the bus and being the chauffeur for the day – and thank you to all our members who helped make the day such a success.

Open seven days a week, the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre plays an important role in welcoming visitors to the region. By regularly participating in familiarisations like this, volunteers are well placed to provide up-to-date, first-hand recommendations and helpful local insights to travellers planning their stay.
