Australian Geographic Travel explores boutique touring opportunities

Building on many years of meetings and engagement with Australian Geographic Travel (AGT), Capricorn Enterprise recently hosted Alyssa Sanders for a famil exploring opportunities for small, boutique group tours across the Capricorn Coast Region.

The visit focused on connecting with local operators and discovering experiences that could help shape a future itinerary. Highlights included High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm, Capricorn Caves for insight into their extensive citizen science opportunities through their Geonature Conservation Foundation, Byfield Rainforest, Reef Distillers new tasting room, St Aubin’s Village and a Time Safaris Walking tour. Accommodation inspections of Hedlow Retreat, The Haven, Emu Park and a visit to Great Keppel Island Hideaway with a taste of some of Keppel Dive & Water Sports citizen science and on-going reef research projects provided further opportunities to explore the region’s suitability for boutique touring.

The proposed itinerary would also incorporate Avoid Island in the Mackay Isaac region, accessed by light aircraft from Rockhampton, creating an opportunity to connect mainland experiences with a distinctive island stay.

The famil marks another positive step in a longstanding trade relationship, supporting the development of tours that introduce visitors to our landscapes, local characters and regional stories.
