Easy To Find Beauty In Our Region

If you haven’t experienced the Pineapple Rail Trail on Braithwaite street in the town centre of Yeppoon, winter is a great time to start!
This wonderful 5 kilometre trail is promoted on our Capricorn Coast street map (compliments of McDonalds, provided for free at our Yeppoon Visitor Information Centre).
Serene, beautiful, interesting, historical, enjoyable, impressed, appreciative and easy are all words that come to mind when I recall what a lovely morning we had walking the rail trail.
Jogging, pushing a stroller, cycling, walking the dogs, driving your golf buggy are all possible on this great trail which has only a slight gradient.
If you don’t want to do the full walk (or ride), you can pick it up in three places – Braithwaite street, Barmaryee Road or Allenby Drive, ending at the Rockhampton to Yeppoon scenic highway behind the Yeppoon Golf course.
The Barmaryee Road to Allenby Drive section is the shortest section in the middle, about 1.2km and if I had to choose a favourite section my pick would be the Braithwaite street to Allenby Drive section.
Great walks are good for the body and the soul and there are many experiences, both natural and man-made in our destination which promote physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Rosslyn Bay Resort and Spa is one of those places. A three day inner journey retreat from 7th to 9th August this year will focus on meditation, yoga and inner-reflection.
Participants will experience a variety of meditation tools including receiving a personalised meditation mantra as they learn and practice Deepak Chopra’s Primordial Sound Meditation.
The weekend will aim to quieten and disconnect from the mind, ego and intellect for a few days. This will be accompanied by relaxing yoga sessions, guided reflections, letting go & living in the now!
Educational workshops, along with health & nutrition seminars, calming spa treatments, quiet walks on the beach and nourishing meals are offered, which culminates with a celebration at the Sunday Parilla party with great company, food, wine and entertainment.
For $695 per person (excluding accommodation – discounted rates), the three day retreat is excellent value for money for those in need of some relaxation and re-balancing.
