Ray White Yeppoon is proud to announce its upcoming ‘Little Ray of Giving’ fundraising event in support of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard.
Set to take place on Saturday, 10th May at The Paddock, Yeppoon, the evening will feature drinks, canapés, and live entertainment, with all proceeds going towards supporting the dedicated volunteers who keep our waterways safe.
The Australian Volunteer Coast Guard is a vital organisation, operated entirely by volunteers who give their time selflessly to ensure the safety of boaters across our region. Through events like ‘Little Ray of Giving,’ the team at Ray White Yeppoon is dedicated to fostering a strong and safe community.
For Kate Stock, Sales and Marketing Consultant at Ray White Yeppoon, this cause is deeply personal.
“As someone who has personally experienced a rescue from the local Coast Guard, I know firsthand the dedication, bravery, and selflessness of these volunteers,” Kate shared.
“They went above and beyond to ensure my family’s safety, and this event is my way of giving back—to make sure they have the resources they need to continue their incredible work.”
“Ray White Yeppoon has a long-standing commitment to supporting the local community, regularly engaging in initiatives that give back to those who make our region a better place to live and work,” Kate said.
The local Coast Guard operates across four flotillas in the region, with dedicated members servicing Yeppoon (83 members), Rockhampton (16 members), Keppel Sands (22 members) and Thirsty Sound/Stanage (10 members).
The Coast Guard plays a critical role in maritime safety, responding to emergency rescues including distress calls, EPIRB activations, and medical evacuations. They provide continuous radio monitoring and safety alerts, offering weather updates, safety notices, and a logging service for boaters. Their search and rescue operations assist lost or distressed individuals on the water, while their training and education programs include Safe Boating courses, First Aid & CPR training, and VHF radio licensing.
Mary Carroll, CEO of Capricorn Enterprise, highlighted the importance of supporting the Coast Guard’s ongoing operations.
“The Coast Guard plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of both locals and visitors enjoying our beautiful coastline,” Mary said.
“This fundraiser will directly contribute to vital training programs, rescue equipment, and operational costs, helping these volunteers continue their life-saving mission.”
