Capricorn Enterprise, in partnership with members of its Health Alliance, is excited to announce the launch of a new recruitment video aimed at attracting medical staff and students to the Rockhampton Region.
The video aims at promoting the lifestyle and professional benefits of living and working in the Rockhampton region and is being utilised by key groups including CQUniversity, Central Queensland Hospital and Health Services, plus Hillcrest and Mater Hospitals and The University of Queensland’s Rural Clinical School, to assist in their recruitment of key personnel both within and outside Australia.
Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll said “The health care and social assistance industry is the region’s largest employer and with 50% of CQUniversity student enrolments in Health and Aged Care courses. One of our regional Priority Projects is to promote the Rockhampton region as a major health hub.”
Ms Carroll said “The delivery of professional hospital, health and medical services across the greater Central Queensland region is critical for the ongoing wellbeing of the entire community, so enticing quality professionals to live and work in the region is an essential component.”
The project was initiated by the Health Alliance, a gathering of key health industry organisations facilitated by Capricorn Enterprise, after its members had identified the challenges they face in recruiting health service professionals and students to the region.
Len Richards, Chief Executive, Central Queensland Hospital and Health Services said “recruitment of clinical staff to regional areas such as Central Queensland can be very difficult, particularly in some medical specialties.”
“The Health Alliance Recruitment Video will play a very important part in our recruitment success by giving potential candidates a snapshot of our assets and attractions” he said.
Ms Carroll said “The video has been created as a way to promote the lifestyle and career opportunities available to potential health professional staff and students who are looking to relocate to our region.”
“In addition, each of the health alliance members has a customised version of the video which includes a segment highlighting the facilities and opportunities they provide which can be used directly in their recruitment marketing” she said.
The video, to be formally launched at a meeting of the Health Alliance this Friday 17th July, has been well received by the consortium with early predictions to its success.
