With the event season in full swing in our region, locals and visitors alike will have plenty of events, festivals and activities to choose from in the forthcoming weeks.
Rockhampton River Festival 2017
The Rockhampton River Festival is happening again this year on the newly revitalised riverfront. The theme in 2017 is ‘River Revived’ where you can celebrate, create, congregate and consume. The festival is a free event for all ages, however, entry frees apply to specific ticketed events throughout the festival. From 3pm Friday 14th July to 5pm Sunday 16th July, come along to the free events, get tickets for one or more of the workshops, restaurants or other events or just enjoy the music, art, markets and more.

Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race 2017
Now in its 11th year, the Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race continues to grow. Brisbane to Keppel is the signature offshore yachting event for the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. The 343 nautical mile race will start on Friday 4 August 2017 at 1100 just east of Green Island on Moreton Bay. The yachts will cruise along the shorelines of Fraser Island before crossing the Tropic of Capricorn bound for Keppel Bay Marina.
The CQUniversity Village Festival
The CQUniversity Village Festival is Central Queensland’s Premier Music, Arts and Cultural celebration so book your weekend on the Capricorn Coast for the 2017 Village Festival from Friday 11th August to Sunday 13th August. With great artists playing, including The Whitlams, Sara Storer, Katie Noonan, The Short Fall, Weathered and more, the event line up is sure to have something for everyone. The Festival’s main stage will be on the iconic YEPPOON FORESHORE with loads of free events, markets and more.
Gemfest Festival of Gems
Gemfest – Festival of Gems, a 4-day exhibition providing a unique gemstone and jewellery experience, includes offerings from respected local, national and international gemstone traders, quality entertainment and food, and some of the finest Australian Sapphires you will ever see. From Friday 11th August to Monday 14th August, why not head out to the Gemfields and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of events from relaxation and wellness workshops to free jewellery demonstrations and fossicking on the Gemfields.
