Major Project Contractors Collaborate

Last Friday, Capricorn Enterprise hosted seven (7) Major Contractors responsible for delivering $3.5 Billion worth of Major Projects. Participants shared project information which provided a greater understanding of all Projects, their critical timelines, scope of works, key milestone indicators, supply chain and primary industry engagement requirements. By working together, we can achieve a co-ordinated approach to maximise local industry participation in both skills and supplies across all projects for the next decade.

Major Regional Projects and their Managing contractors in attendance were:

ADF – SWBTA Remediation Project (Downer – FKG JV)

ADF – SWBTA ASMTI (Laing O’Rourke)

Carmichael Coal Mining Project (ADANI)

Great Keppel Island Rejuvenation Project (Department of Innovation, Tourism, Industry Development (DITID)

Clarke Creek Wind Project (Lacour/Goldwind JV)

Lower Fitzroy Water Infrastructure – Rookwood Weir (Sunwater)

With many of the above infrastructure projects advancing through to their final design phases, preliminary indications of project work and subcontractor packages are being developed indicating that a broad cross section of local industry will have the opportunity to be involved.

Early work packages on projects such as the ADF Remediation ($142M), ASMTI ($800M) and Rookwood Weir ($352.2M) are due to be released for commencement late 2019 – early 2020 and we encourage local industry to contact our Regional Economic Development Manager Neil Lethlean (by email or phone 07 4927 2055) to secure further information and register their interest.
