Conversations with Tourism and Events Queensland
Posted on September 4th, 2019
Last week, over 70 tourism operators joined Capricorn Enterprise and our Southern Great Barrier Reef regional tourism partners in welcoming our Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) colleagues for their annual “Conversations with Industry”.
Held at Salt Yeppoon, the TEQ event provided opportunities to discuss areas of international marketing, social media, public relations, events, Best of Queensland Experiences Program and more.
Before delegates hit the tourism dating scene with one-on-one 10-minute speed sessions with partnerships, marketing, events and experience specialists, TEQ CEO, Leanne Coddington gave insight into her team’s strategic direction along with upcoming consumer trends, as well as showcasing some of the highly successful marketing campaigns and initiatives of the past year.
The event was a fabulous opportunity for our local industry to hear what our State Tourism Organisation is doing and how we can best direct our efforts for the coming year to best leverage our destination.
Member for Keppel, Brittany Lauga joined Capricorn Enterprise CEO, Mary Carroll in highlighting the success of our destination, which is largely due to the ongoing passion and commitment, partnership and collaboration of our industry operators.
With the formalities out of the way, our TEQ colleagues dined at the multi Award winning Waterline Restaurant Keppel Bay Marina. The following day in just six hours, they experienced Beach Café KBSC, Freedom Fast Cats Wild duck, Pumpkin Island, Keppel Explorer, GKI Holiday Village, GKI Hideaway, prior to flying back to Brisbane.
