Major Projects Update – in excess of $80B in regional projects

Projects valued at in excess of $80 Billion are detailed in the latest edition of the Capricorn Enterprise Central Qld Major Projects Report released today.

Whilst coal projects total a massive $69.9 Billion, other general infrastructure projects make up the difference including Shoalwater Bay Remediation Project, ADF/Singapore Armed Forces Military Training Initiative, Rookwood Weir, schools, national and state funded roads and bridges as well as local projects such as aged care facilities, residential developments and commercial developments.

The first half of the year has seen COVID-19 exact a harsh toll on the economy and the Queensland Government has not released a 2020-21 budget for projects in the region; however, there are local and major regional projects not just in the planning and feasibility stages but also proceeding to construction and implementation.

While Capricorn Enterprise takes all possible measures to source reliable infrastructure information in producing the Major Projects Report it notes that the Report maybe deficient due to the lack of specific detail on commercial developments which aren’t necessarily available for confidential reasons.

This report is available for purchase from Capricorn Enterprise, however our Corporate, Platinum and Gold members can request a complimentary copy. Please email admin@capricornenterprise.com.au
