Poinciana on point with new upgrades
Posted on April 12th, 2022
Poinciana Tourist Park, centrally located in Cooee Bay, Yeppoon, has long been an ideal stop for big rigs, caravans, campervans, tents, and those seeking basic cabin accommodation.
But since changing hands in 2021, the Park has undergone significant changes, taking the six-decade old coastal getaway to a modern new level.
With the recent introduction of eight glamping tents featuring ensuite amenities, a common gazebo and private swimming pool, together with contemporary upgrades to existing amenities and communal camp kitchen, Poinciana is positioning itself as a holiday hotspot, catering to a variety of styles and needs.
Named after the flowering poinciana trees scattered throughout the park, Poinciana Tourist Park has, over the years, been a popular short and long-term accommodation option for travellers and locals. Conveniently located only 200m from Cooee Bay beach and 100m to Cedar Park Shopping Centre, the Park provides a fantastic base to begin a holiday.
With nature and outdoor holidays consistently on the rise, father and son team Bill and Matthew Ouston from Poinciana have committed to continually developing and evolving elements of the park to meet the needs of their diverse clientele.
“Poinciana is the most central park in Yeppoon among a beautiful oasis, with all local tourist attractions and eateries close by,” Matthew said.
“The addition of glamping tents to Poinciana was a simple choice, as we were seeking to provide alternative accommodation options for those wanting to experience nature and our destination’s beautiful climate, while also being able to put their feet up and relax in comfort.”
“Glamping provides the fun and enjoyment of camping with the elimination of set up and pack down challenges and irritations,” Matthew said.
“All of the new tents are fitted out with home style comforts including beds, fridges, tables, lounges, blankets and cupboards.”
Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll is delighted to see growth at the long-standing Tourist Park, which she is certain will provide a further boost for the Capricorn Coast destination.
“Our holiday parks are a key experience within our tourism portfolio, with the constant upgrade of accommodation styles catering to all markets and all ages.”
“Poinciana already offers everything needed to enjoy a coastal getaway, and their new additions and upgrades will further enhance our strong drive destination appealing to yet another group of travellers, providing a private and relaxing experience.”
Further development is planned for Poinciana Tourist Park with future stages consisting of new modern cabins, upgrading swimming facilities and recreational areas, as well as improved camp sites.
