‘Friends’ of Archer Park Rail Museum are celebrating 30 years!

It’s time to loosen up the joints and put the locomotion on loop as the party begins for the ‘friends’ of Archer Park Rail Museum.

Celebrating 30 years on Thursday 20th October, the Friends of Archer Park Station, and Steam Tram Museum Inc. invite you to head on down to the heritage-listed former railway station in Rockhampton and join current and past members in honoring this wonderful milestone.

Built in the 1890’s, the iconic museum, featuring a restored Purrey Steam Tram which operated in Rockhampton from 1909-1939, along with other renovated classic trains, has been given a lease of life over the years with modern, state-of-the-art digital soundscape and life-like mannequins.

Reflecting on World War II times, Archer Park Rail Museum has become a popular tourist attraction for visitors and locals alike, with rail memorabilia on display to give a true sense of authentic yesteryear operations.

Home to a variety of events including weddings, Christmas parties, corporate functions, school, and coach tours, along with Family Fun Days and school holiday activities, the Museum and its passionate volunteers continue to provide a remarkable and educational experience for those with a keen interest.

The 30-year celebrations kick off at 10am, with morning tea, presentations and cake cutting at 11am.
