Nestled amongst a tranquil bushland setting, only 1.8 kilometres from Yeppoon, sits Gumnut Glen Cabins. The perfect getaway for families, couples and solo travellers, Gumnut Glen provides the best of both worlds – the peace and seclusion of a leafy landscape, yet only a stone’s throw from the ocean.
Under the new management of Michael and Kathy McCarthy, Gumnut Glen Cabins are fully self-contained, featuring a kitchenette, ensuite, air-conditioning and outdoor seating on the verandah.
Each cabin also boasts a full-size fridge, microwave, 2-burner cooktop, crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. Linen and towels are provided.
Michael and Kathy purchased Gumnut Glen Cabins in November 2021 and have been passionate about creating a quality experience for their guests ever since.
“Prior to taking over the management of Gumnut Glen, we spent five years living and working on Hamilton Island for Hamilton Island Enterprises, giving us the exposure and experience in running various aspects of a quality resort-based business,” Kathy said.
“I was employed in the Hotels Division as Resort and Staff Activities Manager and Michael was employed in the Engineering and Services Division.”
With eight acres of land on the property, Kathy and Michael plan to expand their offering and have plenty of options on the radar moving forward.
“Our future goals for Gumnut Glen Cabins are to maintain our very high standard of cleanliness and continue upgrading and improving amenities and services, ensuring we provide a better experience for our guests,” Kathy said.
“We will continue to monitor guest feedback and work towards a very high level of guest satisfaction.”
Gumnut Glen Cabins has 12 cabins, all sleeping between four and five guests and comprise either one or two bedrooms, along with one three-bedroom cabin.
You can spend your days lounging by the pool and BBQ area or get active with a hit of tennis on the half tennis court. The kids (and adults!) will also love playing lawn games.
There is free off-street parking along with space for trailers and boats, making it the perfect spot to base yourself as you explore the magnificent Capricorn Coast.
Yeppoon’s CBD, beaches, restaurants, cafes, shops, and the popular Yeppoon Lagoon are nearby, and if you are catching a ferry to Great Keppel Island, Gumnut Glen Cabins is only a short 9-minute drive to Rosslyn Bay Harbour. Byfield State Forest is a 26km journey.
