Rubyvale Gem Gallery to share their remarkable story on ABC’s Back Roads

From the moment Peter and Eileen Brown unearthed their first sapphire while out fossicking on the Sapphire Gemfields, they were hooked. Decades into the future, Eileen and the late Peter, together with their sons and partners, and long time employee Mary, continue to share the exquisite Rubyvale Gem Gallery, which sparkles with sapphires mined and cut locally.

In October this year, Heather Ewart and the team from ABC are hitting the Sapphire Gemfields to showcase the Gallery and speak with Eileen and the Brown family, for an upcoming episode of the popular documentary series, Back Roads, which takes viewers through roads less travelled to discover the small towns and communities that make Australia special.

Back Roads hits our screens every Monday from 8:00pm on ABC iView and ABC TV.

Watch this space – airing dates for Rubyvale Gem Gallery will be confirmed soon!

In addition, Mitch and Tyler (Eileen and Peter’s sons) have been ‘hopping’ into action, recently putting the final touches on their new gem – a locally crafted beer. Mitch is proud to be showcasing the new drop at the Emerald BBQ & Beer Festival this weekend! Grab your tickets online, and head down to the Emerald Showgrounds on Saturday 5th August to enjoy a local schooner.
