Family Fun Day at High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm – 23rd and 24th September

Bring the family down to 192 Clayton Road in Rosslyn for an all-ages, family-focused celebration featuring an exciting program to suit everyone.

Held on the first day of the Spring Equinox, this event is a true festival of community, bringing people together to delight in the old paradigm of self-sufficiency, collaboration, and culture.

With loads of hands-on workshops for the adults, and a fun-filled, action-packed ‘Bush ‘Un’School’ adventure for the kids, the two-day program is set to have the earthworms wriggling with anticipation and the bees buzzing with joy!

Hosted by Tranquil Sounds Productions in collaboration with High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm, attendees to New Dawn Gathering will be treated with stage entertainment from local bands, solo artists, and intermittent DJs.

Proudly off-grid and boasting a closed loop system, which utilises produce direct from the farm and an intensive recycling system, the event falls within the ethos of the High Valley Dawn community, promoting an ever-evolving, self-sustaining community model nurturing love and joy in harmony with nature for the greater good of all.

Ross O’Reilly from High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm is thrilled to welcome this event back in 2023 and to strengthen the community through a unified respect of the land and universe.

“Now in its third year, New Dawn Gathering is about sharing our passion for wellness and sustainable development with the broader community and bringing people of all ages and abilities together to experience the magic of Mother Nature,” Ross said.

“The event will kick off on Saturday at 8:00am and we are excited to open up camping this year, so that guests can really disconnect and unwind for the weekend.”

Guests can indulge in the Healing Hub, which incorporates yoga, meditation and breathwork, take an in-depth tour of the permaculture farm, or head over to Garden Gatheringz, with workshops focused on regenerative farming and the ethics of permaculture.

Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll encourages the community to put either a few hours or the whole weekend aside to experience this local event which highlights the essence of our strong and conscious coastal community.

“The sustainability messages promoted at this event compliment High Valley Dawn’s already achieved advanced eco-tourism accreditation, and further reinforces the Capricorn Coast’s commitment to becoming an Eco Destination in the future.”

“High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm together with Beaches Restaurant at Rosslyn Bay have been committed to the region’s wellbeing for many years, and we are grateful to Ross and his team for continuing to promote their sustainable vision through events such as New Dawn Gathering,” Mary said.

“The Southern Great Barrier Reef destination is fast becoming incredibly popular for its diverse terrains, beautiful beaches, top class tours, attractions, accommodation, retailers and world-class events, all of which is continuing to put us on the map and increase visitation.”
