Welcome Gerard Coggan to the role of Coordinator-General, Dept State Development and Infrastructure

Capricorn Enterprise welcome Gerard Coggan to the role of Coordinator-General in the Department of State Development and Infrastructure.

Gerard was appointed the Coordinator-General following an extensive recruitment process at the end of last year and has now been operating in the role for approximately one month. His strong credentials are supported by more than 20 years in project management and consulting across both the public and private sectors, most recently engaged as General Manager at APA Group, an Australian energy infrastructure business.

Gerard holds a wealth of knowledge and his rich experience across the energy, resources and linear infrastructure sectors, coupled with a passion for leading teams toward shared strategic objectives, will drive great opportunities for the state.

As an independent officer of the state, the Coordinator-General reports directly to the Minister for State Development and Infrastructure. The role is unique to Queensland and is relied upon to drive and deliver economic opportunities by leveraging significant, wide ranging regulatory powers to plan and coordinate large-scale projects, while ensuring the project’s environmental and social impacts are properly managed.

Gerard will also have a role in supporting the broader public service to achieve excellence as a member of the Queensland Public Service Leadership Board.
