VIC Staff Experience Great Keppel Island Firsthand

The Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre (VIC) volunteers and new VIC Supervisor (Susan Baylis) were treated to a day of discovery during a recent famil to Great Keppel Island (GKI), hosted by Keppel Konnections, Great Keppel Island Hideaway, and Great Keppel Island Holiday Village.

The group started their day with a Keppel Konnections transfer from Rosslyn Bay Marina at 9:00am. Upon arrival at GKI, the group was welcomed with guided tours of two of the island’s accommodation providers.

The first stop was Great Keppel Island Hideaway, where the group explored a range of Beachfront and Island cabins and the new Putney Place. This was followed by a visit to the Great Keppel Island Holiday Village, known for its eco-friendly bungalows and glamping tents with it’s great laid-back island charm.

A highlight of the day was a relaxed BBQ lunch hosted by Geoff at Great Keppel Island Holiday Village, where participants had the opportunity to network, ask questions, and soak up the tranquil island atmosphere.

The famil offered invaluable insight into the accommodation and tour options on Great Keppel Island, helping our frontline staff better inform visitors and promote local travel experiences.

The VIC volunteers came back inspired and equipped with firsthand knowledge to share with prospective travellers.

Thanks to Keppel Konnections, Great Keppel Island Hideaway, and Great Keppel Island Holiday Village for a fantastic day!
