Ark Energy’s Boomer Green Energy Hub is a renewable energy project proposed for a group of pastoral properties about 90 km north-west of Rockhampton and 30 km south-west of Marlborough.
The project is at an early stage. Work underway includes wind resource monitoring, cultural heritage studies with the Traditional Owners, the Barada Kabalbara Yetimarala People, environmental assessment work, consultation, and technical studies for civil and electrical design.
A development application is due to be lodged later this year and subject to approvals, target for start of construction is 2028. It is estimated that the project will create up to 450 jobs and generate around $500 million in local and regional expenditure, situated within the Livingstone Shire and Central Highlands Regional local government areas.
Ark Energy is committed to maximising the benefits and opportunities of the project for the region. Interested local suppliers are invited to register their credentials via the ‘Suppliers’ form on the project website at boomerhub.com.au.
