Last week, Jabiru Events Centre Yeppoon, in partnership with Capricorn Enterprise, proudly attended the annual AIME (Asia Pacific Meetings & Events) conference in Melbourne, as one of 750 exhibitors.
Now in it’s 33rd year, this year’s AIME was the largest ever, with 1,500 vetted buyers, 5000 attendees and over 25,000 pre-scheduled meetings taking place over the course of the two day event between Destinations, Venues and Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs) from 36 countries and territories. With attendance at AIME limited to large scale conference venues, our destination has not been able to attend this event for many years, but thanks to the capacity of Jabiru Events Centre with the ability to host 1000 cocktail or 500 banquet guests, 720 theatre seating or 50 trade fair booths, our destination’s offerings for the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) market were able to be showcased. A knowledge exchange day on Monday 9th Feb with three key note speakers and 20 breakouts sessions across five core content streams was followed by two days of 32 pre-scheduled appointments over Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th February.
