Capricorn Coast Region strengthens international trade connections at Tourism and Events Queensland event

The Capricorn Coast Region and Great Keppel Island were recently represented at a key Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) trade event, connecting the destination with influential international travel partners who sell Queensland experiences to the global market. The two-day event included a luncheon for the Regional Tourism Organisation’s (RTO’s), whereby 7 out of the 13 regions were represented and showcasing their destinations to high-level buyers, followed by a day of 1-1 appointments.

Capricorn Enterprise’s Tourism and Trade Distribution Contractor, Eloise Chaffers, attended both days, and was joined by Amy Harris from Great Keppel Island Hideaway on day two, participating in 45 face-to-face appointments with Product Managers, and reservation staff, ensuring the region remained front-of-mind with inbound tour operators responsible for packaging and promoting Australian holidays internationally.

The event provided valuable opportunities to showcase the Capricorn Coast’s unique experiences: from island escapes and eco-tourism to authentic regional hospitality, and to strengthen relationships with the global partners who help bring international visitors to Queensland. Maintaining a strong presence at these events is essential in growing awareness of the Capricorn Coast and Great Keppel Island, supporting local operators and helping attract visitors who stay longer, explore more, and contribute to the region’s visitor economy.
