Hundreds of local high school students were inspired last week by special guests Maurice Longbottom, World Rugby Sevens Star, Rachael Watson, Paralympian Gold Medallist Swimmer and Dominique Lamb from Brisbane32. Capricorn Enterprise organised visits to students from nine (9) high schools over two days, with students from North Rockhampton State High School (incl. Lighthouse Christian School), Heights College, Rockhampton Grammar School (incl. Rockhampton State High School), Kingsley College, Emmaus Collage, Yeppoon State High School, Rockhampton Girls Grammar School. Our special guests will be returning next month to participate in a half day summit academy at St. Brendan’s High School (incl. St Ursula’s High School and YSHS).
Member for Rockhampton Donna Kirkland MP and Member for Keppel Nigel Hutton MP joined schools in their electorates, providing an opportunity for students to directly hear from our elected representatives, while Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll conducted a Q&A session with the athletes to provide students the opportunity to learn more about their lifetime journeys and learnings.
