Acquire the confidence and skills to have a positive influence on your local community. Learn how to build and operate a community based organisation effectively in today’s changing environment.
Rockhampton Regional Council is empowering local residents and community organisations to be actively involved through the “Building Skills for the Future conference” which is a free conference.
“Building Skills for the Future Conference” will be held on Saturday, 16 June 2012 at Gracemere Community Hall.

You and your fellow committee member are invited to attend this free conference. Workshops will be delivered by Volunteering QLD, Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) and Rockhampton Regional Council.

Building Skills for the Future Conference workshops include:
– Community Leadership; how to manage, lead and promote a community based organisation.
– Risk Management and Insurance.
– Securing funds for your groups; how to write grants and fundraise.
– Volunteer management training – how to recruit, retain, recognise and ensure safety of volunteers.

A free Community Capacity Building toolkit will be provided to all attendees.
