CQUniversity – CQ TAFE Stakeholder Forum

Date/Time
Date(s) - 13 Nov 2013
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

Location
CQIRP Conference Centre

CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman and CQ TAFE Institute Director Gary Kinnon would like to invite you to a special stakeholder forum to discuss the upcoming merger of the two institutions. The merger will create Queensland’s first truly comprehensive University, which will begin operating in July 2014.

In September, the Queensland Government announced its support for the merger to proceed in a partnership representing over half-a-billion dollars’ worth of combined assets, 40,000 students, 2,000 staff and 20+ campuses. The merger is supported by $73.8M of Commonwealth funding for infrastructure and operations. CQUniversity’s merger with CQ TAFE will see the creation of Australia’s newest education giant, and post-schooling education in Central Queensland will never be the same again. Students from both streams will have seamless access back and forth between the two sectors, producing more rounded graduates who are better prepared for the challenges and opportunities unique to Central Queensland.

This new approach to post-schooling education will be a game-changer for Central Queensland, and it will help this region meet its full potential. However for it to work we need the input and support from key stakeholders like yourself. You are encouraged to attend the forum so that we can all gain a stronger understanding of how to best steer this once-in-a-generation opportunity for the benefit of the entire region.
