Rockhampton Mosque Open Day
Date(s) - 7 Dec 2019
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Islamic Society of Central Queensland (ISCQ) invites you to attend the Rockhampton Mosque Open Day; a project originally initiated by the Lebanese Muslim Association (LMA) and proudly supported by the Department of Social Services. In Rockhampton, this event is sponsored by the Multicultural Affairs, Department of Local Government, Racing and Multicultural Affairs, Queensland Government, and supported by Queensland Police Services, Queensland Human Rights Commission and Multicultural Australia.
Over the past few years, the Open Day has become a significant event to promote unity and harmony by breaking down common misconceptions and stereotypes. It provides a great opportunity for non-Muslim Australians to meet local Muslims and find answers to their questions about Islam and Muslims.
At the Rockhampton Mosque Open Day, there will be different activities to enhance understanding about Islam and Muslims and build stronger community relationships through open conversations and dialogue.
Additionally, there will also be a complimentary Food Festival offering a variety of food from various countries and cultures.
