Pioneers of industry honoured!
Posted on November 21st, 2017
Last Saturday evening 150 local businesses celebrated excellence at a sold out inaugural Industry Celebration Night hosted by Capricorn Enterprise at the Award winning The Waterline Restaurant, Keppel Bay Marina (under a stunning marquee provided by Stage & Audio).
There are so many hard working local business people who are our pioneers of industry, so we wanted to formally celebrate and acknowledge their incredible achievements.
We knew many of our 400 Members had started their businesses well over twenty years ago, but when the details started rolling in, the list was quite staggering.
Private enterprise is the back bone of our economy and the night was all about honouring the people who work so hard for our region day in and day out.

We also acknowledged business and individuals who won Awards over the past year, as well as our wonderful Volunteer Ambassadors at our Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre.
The list of high achievers within our Capricorn Enterprise Membership is mind blowing and they all deserved another night to celebrate!

Beverley Gilligan (Gillo) received her volunteer award for 27 years and 5 months of service to our Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre which is just incredible. All of our volunteers received certificates of service and we are so grateful for their selfless contribution to our local community and of course visitors. Media identity and Miss Universe Australia 2007 winner Kimberley Busteed did a tremendous job as our master of ceremonies and the CEO of Tourism and Events Queensland Leanne Coddington pre-launched our new promotional video of Great Keppel Island (Geoff Mercer) as part of Tourism and Events Queensland’s “I know just the place” campaign. This will be officially released by Tourism and Events in weeks to come – we can’t wait!
Aerial Artist Tamara MacKenzie wowed the crowd and local musical identity Rhonda Janes and Paul Mills had everyone on the dance floor until late. It really was a very special night and the feedback from our Members has been exceptional!
Plans are in place to stage another fabulous event in 2018!
