Debra Howe from Livingstone Shire Council presented the incredible projects delivered on the Capricorn Coast over the past few years by Council working in collaboration with all levels of government, Capricorn Enterprise, local Organisations (ie Bendigo Community Bank, Lions Clubs Emu Park and Yeppoon, RSL Emu Park) and the private sector. The topic was When the going gets tough…the tough get leveraging!” following a string of natural disasters in the region over the past eight years, which have worked to our advantage.

The examples provided included Panorama Drive ($30M), Yeppoon foreshore redevelopment ($53M), Statue Bay Reconstruction ($23.5M), the Homemaker Centre ($6M), the Hub ($6.2M), Emu Park ANZAC memorial walk and foreshore redevelopment ($7M), Wreck Point Lookout ($720K), Smart Lighting project ($895K), the Gateway Industry Park and other smaller projects. A total of $130M has been obtained from state and federal governments to help deliver projects in the Livingstone Shire, all thanks to broad collaboration and partnerships across the public and private sectors.
