Holiday at Home competition

From the newly established 5-star ‘Gleeson’s World of Fun’ accommodation in Yeppoon, to Owen’s exciting Wildlife Adventures, the final two weeks of the Holiday at Home competition certainly made us smile! Check out details of our week two and three winners below…
World of Fun accommodation in Yeppoon, run by seven-year-old Ruby has taken out the top gong in week two of Capricorn Enterprise’s ‘Holiday at Home’ competition after a raving review from VIP guest, five-year-old Eva.
From a colourful and roomy Barbie Suite to ‘revolutionary’ COVID vaccines on arrival, Eva was thoroughly impressed with her recent stay, pledging to return.
Since the Yeppoon family were unable to go away over the past school holidays, they decided instead to transform their own house into an exclusive motel, creatively role-playing the check-in process, payment and tour of the accommodation down to a fine art.
Ruby and Eva were thrilled to be crowned winners of the ‘Boredom Buster Pack’ which included games and activities, along with prizes from local businesses including Koorana Crocodile Farm, Vue Wine Bar and Restaurant, and Artizan Gluten Free Bakery.
Week three winner, five-year old Owen Harris of Bondoola took us on an exciting wildlife adventure, showing off some of his favourite locations around the Central Queensland region without leaving his backyard! Click here to watch his entry – https://youtu.be/6L4U-N1Xmfo
From the Capricorn Caves to Mount Hay, Great Keppel Island to our National Parks, Owen’s passion and motivation is contagious as he showcases his favourite spots and cuddly (or not so cuddly) critters.
The competition which ran for three weeks encouraged families with young children to use imaginary play to recreate their favourite holiday experience from the comfort of their own home or backyard.
Each winning entry received a fabulous ‘Boredom Buster Pack’ which included games and activities, along with prizes from local businesses. All prizes were purchased by Capricorn Enterprise in a continued effort to support the local tourism and hospitality industry.
Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry in the ‘Holiday at Home’ competition. The creativity displayed was outstanding!
