Two local entrepreneurs feature on ABC, Movin to the Country series

A new series on ABC, Movin’ to the Country, celebrates the entrepreneurs, innovators and dreamers who are transforming the look and feel of Australia’s beautiful regional areas in surprising ways.

The six-part series introduces inspiring people who’ve lived in regional Australia their whole lives, returned to the country, or made the decision to pack up their city lives to make a difference in regional towns.

During Episode 6 of the series, host Kristy O’Brien spends some time in Rockhampton and at the Yeppoon Lagoon with two brave local start-ups – Leah and Katrina, who share their current business success and first steps, with the support of Rockhampton’s SmartHub.

Leah, founder of motowear brand QueenCherryBomb moved from Melbourne to Rockhampton five years ago. Her initial conception of designing motorcycle gear specifically for women now sees her exporting to the US and Europe.

After Katrina was diagnosed with breast cancer, she felt a need to develop a brand of underwear that was tailored towards the younger generations and so began Know Your Knockers. With breast cancer previously seen as an older woman’s disease, Katrina found a gap in the market as more and more younger age groups find themselves faced with changes in their bodies. Katrina launched her idea with the support of SmartHub and now has her eye on global domination with her new business.

Capricorn Enterprise congratulates both Leah and Katrina for their success so far and sharing the strength of our local women in the Capricorn region. Watch the full episode on iView now – https://iview.abc.net.au/video/RF2008Q006S00 or tune into ABC on 6th August to watch free-to-air.
