Diversity of Great Keppel Island impresses Queensland Weekender
Posted on September 15th, 2021
The Capricorn Coast and Islands were back in the spotlight last week, as Channel 7’s Queensland Weekender landed on the Southern Great Barrier Reef for two days of filming.
Basing themselves at Oshen Apartments Yeppoon, the crew spent their first day basking in the sunshine of the Yeppoon’s lagoon, foreshore, and township before jumping on board our destination’s newest vessel – Keppel Charters, departing Keppel Bay Marina.
From Great Keppel Islands accommodation operators (GKI Hideaway and GKI Holiday Village) and the endless activities provided by Great Keppel Island Water Sports and Activities/Keppel Dive, the Queensland Weekender crew were blown away by simplistic, and magical diversity of Keppel Bay.
Discovering 18 islands boasting 50 white sandy beaches, the film crew captured Brooke and Ben’s love within one of the national park islands, sharing a magical, secluded island elopement ‘sealed’ by Celebrant by the Sea.
With Keppel Charters now adding to the island’s line up of fabulous operators, this new bespoke event offering will further complement the existing operations on the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Stay tuned for airing dates as you will not want to miss this charming episode.
