The Yeppoon Triathlon Festival

Early-bird registrations for this year’s Yeppoon Triathlon Festival close on the 19th June, so anyone planning or even contemplating this event is encouraged to get organised, commit and register now.

The event, which is being held over the weekend of the 20th and 21st of August, has something for everyone, from juniors, people with a disability, beginners, intermediate and competent athletes. And if swimming, riding, and running all in the one event is not for you, what about getting your friends together and doing it as a team?

The Yeppoon Triathlon Festival is a great opportunity for any mildly active person to experience the fun and excitement of a local event, surrounded on course by other energetic, happy participants and cheered on by spectators from the sidelines.

In addition to the shorter junior and disability events, there is:

  • An Enticer event for beginners 12 yrs and over (300m swim, 9km bike ride, 2km run)
  • A Sprint event for intermediate athletes 14yrs and over (750m swim, 20km bike ride, 5.5km run), and
  • An Olympic distance event for the established triathletes 15yrs and over (1500m swim, 39km bike ride, 11km run)

The thought of doing a triathlon may seem daunting, but the truth is, that it’s not that difficult, and anyone that registers by the 19th of June has over two months to prepare themselves. And in the process, they are sure to enjoy the challenge and excitement of doing something new that is also physically rewarding.

An added advantage of early-bird registration is the inclusion of event merchandise that will provide a lasting memory of the event and perhaps encourage you to challenge yourself more often.

Ready or not, there is no better time or opportunity to commit to doing a triathlon, individually or as part of a team, so “Challenge Yourself” and register now for the Yeppoon Triathlon Festival.
