Bonza gets green light on additional aircraft to paint Rocky skies purple

Bonza is back and ready to paint Rockhampton skies purple as two additional aircraft received regulatory approval and will commence flights in and out of the Gold Coast today.
The two additional aircraft will give Aussies at 14 destinations flying in and out of the Gold Coast, to destinations like Rockhampton, assurance that Bonza is doing what it set out to do, by bringing low-cost air travel to the many, not the few.
“We know it’s been a challenging time for some of our customers who were unable to fly and to them we say we’re really sorry and we’ll learn from this and do better to deliver for Australia,” said Bonza CEO Tim Jordan.
“Now that we have approval for the two additional aircraft we’re scaling up our operations and servicing our new routes from our Gold Coast base.”

There’s been a strong response to the Gold Coast recruitment drive with new crew commencing training next month to service the low-cost carrier’s expansion out of the Goldie to 14 destinations around the country. In the short term Bonza will use the two aircraft leased from partner-airline Flair to service the Gold Coast base whilst its other aircraft continue to fly thousands of customers to their destinations from the airline’s Sunshine Coast and Melbourne bases.
“At Bonza we focus our attention on unserved or underserved markets with 80-90% of our routes not served by other airlines. Our approach to aviation delivers low cost non-stop choices to consumers who previously stayed home due to expensive airfares or had to fly via a major hub on another airline and none of us want to do that,” said Jordan.
“We’re doing everything we can to improve the current state of play of Aussie aviation by bringing equal access through lower fares to more destinations around this great country. Here’s to painting the skies purple!”
