Capricorn Enterprise hosts a record number of famils and influencers in a 6-month period!

Capricorn Enterprise has welcomed a record number of familiarisations (famils) over a 6-month period, with travel agents, media representatives, and VIPs in 2024, further cementing the Capricorn Coast region and Southern Great Barrier Reef as a must-visit destination.

These famils, spanning both domestic and international markets, are crucial in showcasing the region’s diverse attractions, exceptional experiences, and world-class hospitality.

Over the past six months, Capricorn Enterprise has hosted an impressive lineup of influential guests, including:


The following visits and initiatives are already executed or planned for the current six months, showcasing ongoing efforts to highlight the region and build relationships with key industry players:

Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll highlighted the significance of these visits in marketing the destination globally.

“Welcoming these VIPs, travel influencers and business colleagues to our part of the Southern Great Barrier Reef destination is essential in driving awareness and future visitation,” Mary said.

“Experiencing our region first-hand allows them to confidently promote our unique landscapes, eco-tourism experiences, and outstanding hospitality to their clients and audiences worldwide.”

“Each famil is carefully curated to align with the specific interests and market focus of the guest, ensuring they experience the attractions, accommodation, and dining that best resonate with their target audience,” Mary said.

“By tailoring these itineraries, we provide our guests with the most relevant and impactful experiences, enabling them to authentically convey the beauty and appeal of our region.”

“We see immediate results from these famils by the way of increased sales and inclusion in itineraries, but others are part of a long-term strategy.”

During their stays, guests explored relevant key attractions to their markets. Some of these included Great Keppel Island with Freedom Fast Cats, Keppel Konnections, Keppel Dive and Water Sports, and Funtastic Cruises. They also visited Capricorn Caves, High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm, Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary, Koorana Crocodile Farm, Yeppoon Lagoon and foreshore, Emu Park’s ANZAC Memorial and Singing Ship, Keppel Bay Marina, Mount Archer NP Nurim Skywalk, Rockhampton City Tour/Botanical Gardens and Byfield National Park. They stayed at accommodation including Castle Rock Farm, Surfside Yeppoon, Oshen Yeppoon, Rosslyn Bay Resort, Echelon Yeppoon, Empire Rockhampton, Salt Yeppoon, Seaspray Yeppoon, Great Keppel Island Hideaway, GKI Holiday Village, Hedlow Retreat, Discovery Parks – Rockhampton and NRMA Capricorn Yeppoon Holiday Park. Additionally, they indulged in culinary delights at The Waterline Restaurant, Beaches Restaurant, The Station Taphouse, Baked on 44, Crimson Finch and Reef Distillers, Lure Living, The Rocks, Vue Wine Bar & Restaurant, Ofishal Beachclub, Trufusion Indian Bar and Grill, Gardens Tearooms, St Aubins Village, Riverston Tearooms, Hummingbird Café RMOA, Byfield General Store, and various other dining establishments along the Taste Capricorn Coast food trail.
