Keppel Bay Coffee brewed with ‘Local Knowledge’ and coastal pride

The Capricorn Coast has a new signature flavour – and it’s in your morning cup.

Keppel Bay Coffee, a boutique local coffee brand under the Coffee of Capricorn Co banner, is making waves with its “Local Knowledge” blend – a smooth, medium roast with notes of milk chocolate, caramel, and a hint of honey sweetness.

Designed and roasted in Queensland by locals for locals, the blend captures the essence of the region’s coastal lifestyle, coffee connections and community spirit.

Joining a growing line-up of producers, growers, and artisans who are putting the Capricorn Coast on Queensland’s culinary map, Keppel Bay Coffee will form part of the Taste Capricorn Coast initiative – a showcase of the region’s freshest seafood, boutique distilleries, paddock-to-plate dining, and handcrafted treats.

Now, coffee lovers have their own must-try local drop to discover along the trail.

Owner Samantha O’Brien said the inspiration behind Keppel Bay Coffee came from years working in hospitality and tourism along the Capricorn Coast, and a desire to create something that locals could truly call their own.

“Coffee is more than just a drink – it’s an experience, a connection, and a memory,” Samantha said.

“We wanted a blend that reflects the people, places, and pace of life here.”

“The Local Knowledge blend celebrates the Capricorn Coast in every sip, and we’re proud to be part of a movement that showcases the incredible flavours developed right here in our own backyard.”

Keppel Bay Coffee is sustainably sourced, roasted locally, and packaged in striking coastal-vintage inspired bags featuring the nostalgic tagline “Wish You Were Here”.

The coffee is available wholesale to local businesses, for tastings and retail purchase at the coffee concept shop and tasting warehouse on Tanby Road, and at selected cafes and outlets across the Capricorn Coast and Central Queensland.

Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll said Keppel Bay Coffee was a welcome addition to the region’s growing food tourism story.

“Taste Capricorn Coast invites people to explore our diverse region through its flavours,” Mary said.

“Keppel Bay Coffee has brewed a truly local experience – one that visitors can enjoy at cafes along the trail, take home in their suitcase, and remember long after their trip.”

“It’s a perfect example of how our local producers are shaping the Capricorn Coast as a vibrant food destination.”

And with warmer months ahead, Keppel Bay Coffee is set to launch its own cold brew, tapping into the growing love for iced and chilled coffee drinks.
