Tucked within the tranquil surrounds of Hedlow Creek, Hedlow Retreat is strengthening its position as one of the Capricorn Coast Region’s most unique corporate and event destinations, with the expansion of its marquee facilities to better cater for business events, retreats and special gatherings.
While weddings have long formed the core of Hedlow Retreat’s event offering, the boutique retreat is now seeing growing interest from the corporate sector, with businesses increasingly seeking spaces for team building and conferencing in natural settings.
To support this growth, Hedlow Retreat has recently enhanced its event infrastructure with the addition of a dedicated preparation kitchen and office space, while the marquee has also been fully air conditioned, creating greater comfort and flexibility for conferences, workshops, strategy sessions and retreats throughout the year.
Known for its secluded accommodation, creekside setting and peaceful atmosphere, Hedlow Retreat offers an alternative to traditional conference venues — allowing guests to slow down, reconnect and experience the benefits of time spent in nature.
Owner Jaclyn said the expansion reflects both the success of the venue’s wedding offering and the increasing demand for nature-based corporate experiences.
“Weddings have always been at the heart of what we do and continue to be a major part of the business,” she said.
“But we’re also seeing more organisations looking for spaces that allow people to step away from the everyday office environment and reconnect — not only with each other, but with nature.”
“Our goal is to continue evolving the experience while remaining true to what makes Hedlow Retreat special — the sense of calm, space and connection people feel when they arrive here.”
The upgraded facilities now provide greater flexibility for corporate retreats, wellness events, private celebrations and weddings, while complementing the retreat’s existing accommodation and outdoor experiences including canoeing on Hedlow Creek and fireside gatherings beneath the stars.
Mary Carroll, CEO of Capricorn Enterprise, said Hedlow Retreat reflected the growing demand for experience-led business events across the wider Capricorn Coast Destination, where visitors can combine conferencing with meaningful connection to place and nature.
The expansion comes as the Capricorn Coast Region continues to strengthen its reputation as a destination for both leisure and business events, offering delegates the opportunity to blend productivity with the region’s relaxed coastal lifestyle and natural surroundings.
