High Growth Business Program Delivered for Local Businesses
Posted on September 4th, 2015
Twenty nine (29) businesses from Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast will participate in the first ever delivery of the High Growth Business Program – Economic Gardening CQ.
The inaugural Program, which commences next week, is the first of its kind to be delivered locally. It is a sustainable business growth program that concentrates on the development of SME’s (Small to Medium Enterprises) that are focused on the development of their business seeking expansion and growth within the domestic and global markets. The Program extends across four (4) months via a number of special workshops plus one on one business coaching.
Whilst the Economic Gardening Program has been successfully delivered in the Illawarra Region of NSW for in excess of ten years – assisting the growth of in excess of 400 businesses – the local delivery is being hosted and managed by Capricorn Enterprise with the generous financial support from Livingstone Shire Council and the Federal Government’s Industry Skills Fund.
Economic Development Manager at Capricorn Enterprise Neil Lethlean is thrilled that the Program has been endorsed and gained the support of local business stating “most programs that are promoted to assist business development are delivered in an ad-hoc, one-off basis. This high growth business program is a comprehensive, all inclusive program of intensive and continuous mentoring by professional consultants expert in their individual fields – delivered by business for business”.
Neil is hopeful that with the support of local businesses and funding commitments from Local Government that future programs will continue in the years to come. “I am confident that the Economic Gardening Program will support in excess of sixty businesses via two programs per year until the end of the decade” he said.
Prue Hinchliffe, director of Indigo Gold and Member of Capricorn Enterprise, is looking forward to participating in the program and further developing her company.
“As a developing company, I’m excited to take advantage of the opportunities presented in the economic gardening program delivered by Capricorn Enterprise – this is going to being a truly empowering experience. I have absolutely no doubt that this course will increase my productivity and help my company grow through new ideas and skills.”
The program strength lies in its multiple components: It is educative (workshop materials and exercises); focussed on implementation to bring about positive change (‘Do your homework’); involves some one-on-one coaching; is motivating; and involves networking/mutual support of businesses. The Program is appropriate to virtually all businesses – including construction, tourism, retail, transport, service organisations, consultancies and not-for-profit groups.
The High Growth Business Program commences next Tuesday, September 8th, with a full-day boot-camp at the Rosslyn Bay Resort Conference Centre on the Capricorn Coast.
