Census requirements for Tourism Businesses

Tourism businesses are reminded of their obligations for the 2016 Census. Conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics every five years, the Census counts every person and household in Australia. It is important that everyone in Australia, except foreign diplomats and their families, is counted on a Census form on August 9, 2016, even those who are not Australian citizens. This includes travellers, international students and other temporary visa holders. Hotel and accommodation providers are responsible for passing on Census information.
